An AI mock interview that talks back.
Interview Hero is an AI mock interview you do out loud. Remy, the interviewer, asks the question, listens to your answer, reads your code or your whiteboard, and asks the follow-up — the way a person across the table would.
What an interview actually tests
Thinking out loud
Interviewers score what they hear. Knowing the answer and saying it clearly, while someone waits, are different skills.
Handling the follow-up
The first answer is rarely where the round is decided. It is the "why" after it, and what you say when pushed off your plan.
Keeping to time
A real round has a clock. You need to finish, test, or land the story before the interviewer moves on.
Pick a round, talk it through, fix one thing.
Pick the round
Coding in a Python editor, system design on a whiteboard, or behavioral stories. Paste a job post and we suggest the mix.
Talk it through
Remy speaks first and the clock starts. She follows up on what you said, not on a script, and wraps up on time.
Fix one thing
The report picks one habit, quotes the moment it happened, and suggests what to say instead. Then you redo just that moment.
Say the trade-off before you start coding.
“I'll just use a hash map and sort it, it's probably fine.”11:40 · right before you started typing
“A heap keeps this at n log k. Sorting everything is simpler — I'll start there and say why it's fine for this input.”
Choose the round you need to practise.
Each round draws on the Interview Hero question library. A few examples from each:
Coding
- In-memory rate limiter
- Min stack
- Run-length string compression
System design
- Design a distributed rate limiter
- Design a URL shortener
- Design a social news feed
Behavioral
- Ownership end to end
- Disagree and commit
- Customer impact
About AI mock interviews
How is an AI mock interview different from practising with a chatbot?
A chatbot waits for you to type and answers what you ask. Remy runs the round: she asks, listens, follows up on your answer, keeps the clock, and ends the interview.
Which kinds of interview can I practise?
Coding, system design and behavioral rounds. You can also combine them into a loop that mirrors your onsite.
Do I need a microphone?
Yes. The whole round is spoken, so you need a microphone and a quiet place. Headphones help Remy hear only you.
How long is one AI mock interview?
Coding rounds run 25 or 45 minutes, behavioral rounds 30 minutes, and system design rounds 45 minutes.
